Seed Stories Project
The foundational goal of the Seed Stories Project is to get to know ourselves and each other through the identification of and cultivation of the food plants that are most important to each of us. Through the shared cultivation of culturally significant seeds, as well as the stories of the seed keepers themselves, we will experience greater food sovereignty. Sometimes culturally appropriate foods, and their seeds, can be hard to find and expensive to purchase. Conversely, when we grow food ourselves it is more readily accessible, more nutritious, and more affordable. When we save seed we are naturally selecting for more vigorous, more locally adapted plants, which increases resilience in the face of climate change.
