Poetry as Personal Myth: Writing Our Own Stories

Campus contacts

Discuss personal myths and their poetic origins, reading authors from ancient to contemporary. Borrow methods for unveiling personal story, use writing exercises to identify transcendent moments and spin them into poems. All levels welcome.

Each of us has a story to tell that's more profound than the details our daily lives can convey. We'll look at poets who have used their writing as a way of translating deep and transformative moments in their lives and follow their guidance as a way of unveiling our own personal myths in poetic form.
