Explore movement and visual art to tell a story and inspire change. Draw inspiration from overlooked change makers, poets, artists and activists each day learning how voices have shaped history and culture. Experiment with spoken word, performance or visual art to craft a powerful message through creative expression. For ages 12-17.
This explorative art camp empowers teen students to explore storytelling, spoken word and performance art as tools for self-expression and social impact. Drawing inspiration from historically overlooked change makers such as poets, activists, and artists, students will experiment with various forms of artistic expression, including movement, visual art and narrative performance to craft their own compelling messages. The camp culminates in a final presentation, where students have a chance to share their work using their creativity to inspire and ignite change.
Students will need to bring their own resources for their art medium.
