Details about this class
- The required Textbook is Introduction to Psychology by Lumen Waymaker Learning. This material will be provided directly on the D2L course website. When registering for the class, you will be charged $ 45.75, so no additional payments will be required. Lumen Waymaker Learning's user-friendly learning tools improve success for at-risk students with personalized study plans, automated study tips and nudges, and early alerts to identify and help struggling students. Moreover, many built-in features help students complete the sections with a deeper understanding of the material and its application to everyday situations.
- Remember that you will be expected to complete the VoiceThread Introduction (detailed instructions will be provided) by Friday of the first week of the term to keep your seat in the class. You will also receive an email from me, containing important information, before class begins.
Technology
- The course will be conducted exclusively online, which means we DO NOT HAVE ANY IN-PERSON or ZOOM meetings. Instead, you need to visit D2L AT LEAST 3 TIMES PER WEEK to complete the required work.
I also invite all students to schedule short individual meetings via Google Meet throughout the term (details will be provided on the course website).
- To be successful in this course, you will need reliable Internet, a computer, and a backup plan in case of technical issues. PCC provides technical support to all registered students (including rental Chromebooks), so watch this video for details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNNt_YZI51I
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
