Details about this class
This is a lecture and problem based class with lots of Group Work.
There will be two exams during the term, a midterm exam during Week 5 and a Final Exam during Finals weeks. Both exams will be during the same time as when your class typically meets. During finals week there may be a slight adjustment to time.
There will also be a weekly Quiz, Written Homework, Group Work and WebWork Homework.
WebWork is the online homework system.
Technology
*Access to a basic or scientific calculator (not on a phone or computer) is required.
*A graphing calculator is not required for the course. Instead we will use a free app called Desmos for graphing when a graphing utility is appropriate. Desmos can be downloaded to a tablet or a smartphone. It can also be used directly from its website, www.desmos.com. A graphing utility will not be required for exams.
*The homework for this class will require the use of a computer.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
