Details about this class

Welcome to math 111.  The goal of my teaching is active learning. One of my objectives in teaching is to facilitate learning by helping students to gain the necessary skills to take control of and become active participants in their own learning.  Our class will contain a lab component where students work together with other students to engage with the material and develop a deeper understanding of the material.  The book for this class is a free OER and we will discuss how to access it during class.

This class is NOT a remote learning course and will be meeting Face to Face for In-Person Learning all term. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you very soon!

A recommendation for support MTH 111 learning is to sign up for a ALM 111B (1 credit).  This course offers extra support in learning the materials for our MTH 111 class and is particularly helpful for students who haven’t had a math class in a number of terms/years.

Technology

Our computer homework system will be on My Open Math.  Students will need access to computers outside of class to work on the homework.
