Details about this class

Hello! My name is Doree, and I'm the teacher for this Level 5 Reading class. In this class, you will learn about and practice reading strategies, learn new vocabulary, and read a variety of texts. You'll be reading and learning a lot!

Our required novel is El Deafo by Cece Bell - https://bookstore.pcc.edu/store4/CourseMaterials?src=2

Ask me about the different ways that you can get the required novel for this class.

In this class, you will work in pairs or small groups to discuss the novel and other texts, and you will practice your reading comprehension skills. You will also write about what you've read to show comprehension.

We will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 to 11:20 am. Please note the longer class time but shorter term for Summer 2025. Our first class is on Tuesday, June 24, and our last class/final exam is on Tuesday, August 19th.
