Details about this class

This is a fully online course with no class sessions (either in-person or through zoom). It is up to the student to log into the d2l shell at least 3 times a week to read announcements, read the material for the course and do the required work.

Although there are no scheduled sessions, students can sign up for a private zoom session with the teacher. Details will be posted in the syllabus.

No textbook for this class. Course materials are all online including text and videos.

This class introduces Microsoft Office 365 programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). These programs will also be used to complete assignments related to computer concepts. Must have access to or have installed Microsoft Office 365 software (including Access database).

Technology

Students will need access to Microsoft 365 including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.  Students will also need to use MS Access, but a free version will be made available.  If a student is using an Apple computer or a computer with Linux as the operating system, then PCC will provide them with a program named Propeller at no cost so that they can connect online with a Windows based computer on a PCC campus.  By using Propeller, the student can login to virtual Windows desktop over the Internet.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
