Details about this class

HEC 226 explores the growth of children from the prenatal period through adolescence via theories, research, and principles of physical, cognitive, language, social, and emotional development. This course includes requirements for observation of children of varying ages and/or interviews. Over the course of the term, you will be encouraged to develop an appreciation for children and their changing abilities, bodies, needs, and interests. This course includes textbook reading, online discussion, and audio-visual materials.

As a 4 unit course, please be prepared to spend 8-12 hours per week engaging in readings, watching videos, participating in discussions, quizzes, and preparing assignments.
