Details about this class
In this class, students will:
- read and discuss a range of contemporary poems
- write original poems
- memorize and recite at least one poem
- present poems for workshop, and provide feedback
- revise poems
- engage with ideas and theories about poetry
- present a portfolio of eight to ten pages of revised poems
Required texts and materials:
- A textbook: Real Toads, Imaginary Gardens: On Reading and Writing Poetry Forensically, by Paisley Rekdal
- A composition notebook
