Details about this class

Welcome to WR 121! My name is Laurel, and I am looking forward to working with you as we explore many different kinds of writing during the course of the term. The focus will be on building skills that prepare you for college writing in other classes, as well as writing beyond the classroom.

There are no textbooks required for this course. I will provide a variety of class readings in D2L, PCC's online learning system. Since these readings generally won't be printed out (unless you choose to print them yourself), it is helpful if you can bring your own laptop or tablet to class. However, if you don't have access to your own computer, I will bring a few Chromebooks for you to borrow during class time. Please contact me at lspillum@pcc.edu with any questions or concerns you have.

Technology

This class does not require any special technology or software outside of the basic PCC requirements for working online.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.

Online technical requirements

Please be sure to read the quick guide to Online Learning technical requirements.

Students with disabilities

Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.

Prerequisite for online classes

Before you take your first online class at PCC, you must complete the start guide. The start guide will help you decide if these classes are right for you. Once you complete the start guide, you will be able to register for these classes.
