Details about this class
Welcome to Introduction to Psychology, Part 1!
How does the mind work, and how can science help us better understand human experience and behavior? This course explores these questions through an overview of key topics, including research methods in psychology, sensation and perception, the basics of biological behavior, consciousness, memory, learning, and intelligence.
As an in-person course, regular attendance is required to stay engaged with the material and participate in discussions and activities that are essential for learning. In line with PCC regulations, students must attend the first three classes to remain registered in the course. Additionally, students who miss more than half of the scheduled classes will not be able to pass the course.
This course includes a mix of in-class discussions, short quizzes, and writing activities to help reinforce what you learn. No prior background in psychology is needed—just a willingness to participate and think critically about human behavior.
Creating a respectful and inclusive classroom environment is important to ensure everyone feels comfortable engaging in discussions. Disrespectful behavior or hate speech will not be tolerated.
I encourage you to consider whether this course aligns with your schedule and commitments. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I’m looking forward to a great term together!
