Physical Education and Dance
PE Facility Access: Students in a PE class can sign up for a locker and receive access to PE facilities during open recreational hours,by providing a student ID and a printed class schedule to the following areas on the following PCC campuses:
Rock Creek: Building 5, Gym
Cascade: PEB (Physical Education Building) Front Desk
Sylvania: HT 114, Athletic Facilities Window
Students not enrolled in a PE class interested in using PE Facilities during open recreation hours, can pay a $12.00 PE Facility Fee at the business office of the campus they wish to have access to and then present the receipt and student ID at the locations listed above.
PCC does not provide medical coverage. It is strongly recommended that students have medical coverage and a recent physical exam.

Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding Lessons at Mt Hood Meadows
Portland Community College Physical Education Department is partnering with Mt. Hood Meadows Resort to provide a Five Week Ski and Snowboard Course to learn how to or improve your Downhill Skiing or Snowboarding Skills.
This course meets for five consecutive Saturdays starting February 3rd at Mt. Hood Meadows. Students will need to register through PCC for one of the 1-credit Ski or Snowboard Courses. Students can choose between beginning, intermediate, or advanced skiing or snowboarding PE courses. Registered students will receive a Mt. Hood Meadows "PCC GO-Code" that can be used to purchase five-Two Hour Lessons, five-Lift Tickets and Equipment Rentals (see pricing below).
The two hour Lessons are required to participate in this program and must be included in any package in either of the skiing or snowboarding courses. The morning session lessons (Beg & Int) are scheduled from 9:00-11:00a and the afternoon session lessons (Int & Adv) are scheduled from 1:00-3:00p. Students need to check in and attend each of the five scheduled Saturdays, Feb 3, 10, 17, 24, & Mar 2. Attendance at each of the five lessons is required for this course.
NOTE: Transportation to Mt. Hood Meadows is not provided by PCC. Students will need to arrange for transportation to Mt Hood Meadows each of the five scheduled Saturdays.
There is a required student orientation on Thursday, January 25th from 6:00-6:50pm to answer any of your questions and to finalize the course rosters. This will be held In person at PCC's Sylvania Campus in HT 203. Students not able to attend In Person will be able to view remotely. The meeting link information will be provided to registered students prior to January 25th.
Package Pricing is for Five Saturdays and advanced sales are paid to Mt. Hood Meadows at www.skihood.com using the PCC GO Code. Students must pay for their lessons, lift tickets and equipment rentals by Feb 1, 2024.
-Five Two-hour Lessons ($449) - required to participate.
-Five All Mt. Lift Tickets ($319)
-Equipment Rentals ($119)
(Total paid to Mt. Hood Meadows = $887)
-Ski Check ($10) - a safe place to store your equipment when not on the slopes (recommended).
*Students that already have their own equipment and/or a season pass do not need to purchase additional Lift Tickets or Rentals. All students need to purchase the five, Two Hour Lessons.
