Details about this class
In this course we will dive into the awesome topic of Digital Video Editing. Students will learn foundation Editing skills in a variety of topics, including Continuity, Dialogue editing, Multicam, and Montage. Video footage will be provided for class assignments. Students will have the option of filming (or providing footage) for their Final project.
Tuesday's section is our primary class day. Thursdays will be our Lab time for extra feedback.
Attendance at scheduled class sessions is required. Lecture recordings will be made available as a back-up.
Technology
We'll be meeting in the Multimedia department's Mac labs at the Cascade Campus. This course uses professional digital media software that requires a computer capable of running Adobe Premiere Pro software.
If Editing at home check the Multimedia Technology specifications page for computer recommendations. Chromebooks or tablets are not recommended.
Required:
- Regular access to a computer, Mac or PC, that can run Adobe 'Premiere Pro' - System requirements for Adobe Premiere Pro
- PCC offers student licenses for the Adobe CC Suite. Please watch your PCC email in the week prior to course start for information about how to access it.
- This class will use PCC's student account of 'Google Drive for Desktop' (this will be set up in Class)
- Recommend an external hard drive 500+ Gigs
- Use of Apple Cloud Desktop or other cloud storage is not recommended for working with digital media files. Such software automatically moves large files from your hard drive to iCloud, and deletes the local copy. You must have sufficient local storage to work on digital media files.

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
