Details about this class

Welcome to HIM 128!

This is the first of a two-term asynchronous course about human anatomy & physiology for HIM students. For both terms we will use the textbook Visual Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology, 1st ed., 2013, by Martini, Ober, Bartholomew and Nath, from Pearson Publishers. Each week, you will read a chapter from the text, participate in class discussions, and do weekly quizzes. Over the course of the term, there will also be exams, mastery quizzes, and a term project researching a disease or disorder relating to the body systems we are studying. Readings are supplemented by videos and written explanations of difficult topics.

This is a challenging course of study and a great place to learn about the body you live in all the time!

Technology

Please use Google docs or Microsoft Office to submit written documents like review questions and portions of the Disease/Disorder project.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
