Details about this class

Welcome to GS107 (Physical Science: Astronomy)!  This course is a survey of astronomy.  We will cover early astronomy, the night sky, solar system formation, the terrestrial and Jovian planets, the Sun, light, stars, galaxies, and the birth, evolution, and fate of our universe.

This class is entirely asynchronous with no live lectures. You'll work through the class by going through the material in each weekly module/folder in order - we've designed it to help you move through the class.  Each week, you really need to read the page entitled "Week # information", as this will tell you what you need to do to succeed for the week.  Your instructor will add information they think you should know to this page.

Each week will have quizzes (inside the lecture modules), discussion posts, and guided online labs.

Technology

There is no additional technology required for this class.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
