Details about this class

I am excited to teach this recently revamped GS 106 "Introduction to Earth Science Systems" course.  This course will introduce you the different components of the Earth Systems and how they interact across space and time.  Emphasis will be on helping you develop important skills and preparing you for further General Science and Geology courses like Astronomy, Oceanography, Meteorology, and a number of Geology options.  This GS 106 course now satisfies the math prerequisite requirements for GS and G classes (see course catalog for details).

Attendance and participation in the fully in-person lab science class is essential for student success.  We encourage students to bring a laptop or tablet to class, if they have one.  There is a small computer lab with desktop and laptop computers available if needed.

There is an optional all-day field trip which will take place on Saturday, October 25th.  Van transportation will be available if needed.  More details to come once we begin class.

Technology

There is no additional technology required for this class.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.

Students with disabilities
