Designed to prepare individuals to safely respond to hazardous materials emergencies. Individuals will learn to analyze an incident; detect the presence of hazardous materials; survey the scene; collect hazard information from the DOT Emergency Response Guidebook; implement actions consistent with standard operating procedures; initiate protective actions and initiate the notification process. (See course content and outcomes.)
