Details about this class

This is the classroom ("theoretical") part of the Digital Systems 1 which also consists of a lab ("practice") part under a different CRN. The lab part may be taught by a different instructor. The classroom part will account for 80% and the lab 20% of your total grade in this course. The entire classroom plus lab course is for 4 credits, for which the college expects students to put in a total of 12 hours of in-class and out-of-class work. This is a serious course. You will learn real stuff but will probably end up spending a lot more time than the standard college expectations. Be aware of your own learning style and be realistic about how much time you need and how much you have.

There will be two scheduled lecture sessions of 1.5 hours each per week. Lectures are organized closely around the textbook to create a "single line of learning" for students in and outside classroom and to reduce confusion around "what I'm supposed to study/not study". Homework and tests are also organized to support such single line of learning. I will record the lecture sessions but you are required to attend "live" lectures.
