Details about this class
We are happy to be able to offer this "online, no scheduled meetings" chemistry course, meaning that all course components (lectures, assignments, quizzes, final exam) are online through D2L, and most of the labs done using a lab kit and a separate web site. You will be able to move through the course on your own schedule as long as you complete the work by the due date each week. It's a complex course, so organizational skills, close reading and attention to detail are essential!
This 5-credit course includes both lecture and lab, so it’s like two courses in one. It requires 15-20 hours each week since it is equivalent to an on-campus chemistry course. And I’m here to help every step of the way!
You’ll do the labs at home with a purchased lab kit. It’s expensive ($200+), but it’s the only way we can offer a valid, accredited chemistry course online – and it’s pretty fun! You will post 3 selfies doing the experiment each week. I’ll send a class email out to registered students the week before the class opens with all the ordering information as well as the course syllabus.
Please check your PCC email regularly for updates from PCC and your instructors. To forward your PCC email to another account, go to PCC gmail Settings, then select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab at the top.
