Details about this class

HEC 226 is a fast paced and dynamic class. As a 4 credit course, students should expect a range of 8-12 hours of reading, writing and viewing of course content including videos, online articles, and presentations per week. Workload depends largely on the weekly modules and when major assignments are due.

Each week is comprised of one discussion post, 2 peer responses, and 1 quiz. There are 3 major written assignments required and spread throughout the term. Assignments require work to be submitted in APA style. A style guide is provided in the course content.

This course requires weekly observations and/or interviews, both formal and informal*. Students will need access to children of various ages/stages for observation as well as adults with children for interviews and may observe children at PCC Sylvania's on-site child development center.
