  • Harappa Civilization & the Early Indus River Valley
  • Buddhist Art & Architecture
  • Hindu Art & Architecture
  • Islamic India & The Mughal Court
  • Imagery & Experience in Rajasthani & Pahari Painting
  • The Art of the Everyday, or Non-Canonical Objects

The regions we'll study have produced thousands of civilizations, birthed major religious traditions, and provided fundamental innovations in the arts and sciences. The objects we'll learn about reflect the diverse cultures and religions of South Asia and the extraordinary beauty and variety of artworks, and architectural achievements, produced in the region over the centuries.
