Apply for the Animation and Motion Graphics degree
New students are encouraged to select the Multimedia Certificate when applying to PCC. First term Multimedia Certificate classes stack into the Animation and Motion Graphics AAS. Successful applicants complete the steps below, attend a Multimedia information session as soon as possible, and sign up early – program classes fill up quickly.

Complete this step as soon as possible so you can start using PCC resources. On the application, choose the? Multimedia Certificate major. (Your major will be updated after you’re admitted to the program.)

- MM112 Digital Media Foundations? (offered every term, take as soon as possible)
- MM120 Multimedia Design (offered Fall, Winter, Spring)
- MM118 Previsualization for Digital Media (offered Fall, Spring)
- MM235 Video Editing (offered every term, concurrent MM112)
- MM230 Graphics for Multimedia (MM112 Prerequisite)
- MM231 2D Animation (MM112 Prerequisite/ Concurrent)

Request to be admitted
There is no formal application to the program. We will update your major when you successfully complete the prerequisites and email us to ask that you be admitted to the Animation and Motion Graphics degree.
Classes you can take before you begin the program
If you are waiting until the prerequisite classes are offered, you can also take the following classes any time before admittance into the Graphic Design program, in any order:
- Art 131A: Drawing 1 (or Art 115 Basic Design: 2D Foundations or Art 161 Intro to Animation) – counts as Gen Ed
- Art 116 Basic Design: Color Foundations (or Art 237A Drawing the Human Figure) – counts at Gen Ed
- BA 150 Intro to Entrepreneurship (or BA 235 Social Media Marketing, or BA 250 Small Business Design)
- COMM 130 Business and Professional Communication (or COMM 140 Introduction To Intercultural Communications or COMM 215 Communicating in Teams and Small Groups)
- Other Associate Degree requirements:
- WR 121: English Composition
- MTH 58: Math Literacy I (to see if you need to take this course, follow the steps under plan your first term)
- Social Science (fulfills Gen Ed)
- Science or Math > 100 level (fulfills Gen Ed)
