F-1 International Student Emergency Fund
The OISS raises funds continually to be able to assist F-1 international students who are in financial crisis. If you have tried all of your options for extra funds, including meeting with the SEVIS Coordinator, you can apply to the F-1 International Student Emergency Fund.
The F-1 International Student Emergency Fund is for emergency situations only. These are short-term or one-time-only unexpected needs. To be eligible for these funds, you must be in active F-1 status, enrolled in classes for the current term, be employed on-campus or applied for on-campus work, and details of the emergency needed must be provided. You will also need to attach documentation of what you will use the funds for if you are awarded.
The F-1 International Student Emergency Fund is now closed. It will reopen once funds are available.
Examples of emergency needs
- Car accident and repairs are needed
- Unexpected medical bills
- Sudden change in housing situation
- Loss of on-campus job or sponsor’s job
- Experienced theft
Examples of non-emergencies
- Rent increase
- Budgeting and deadline challenges
- Ongoing financial need (meet with SEVIS Coordinator to discuss possibility of Severe Economic Hardship)
Limited funds are currently available.
Funds are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis. A committee reviews each application and can award up to $500 per student. Awarded funds will be applied to any outstanding balances at PCC first. Remaining balance will be issued in the form of a check.
Financial Aid
F-1 International students are not eligible to complete the FAFSA or Federal Financial Aid.
CARE Referral & Urgent Need Fund
The office of Student Conduct and Community Support has a CARE team prepared to support PCC students who need additional help.
The CARE team reaches out to students in need when their team has been contacted. They can provide additional support and resources to PCC students and may also have access to additional funds for urgent needs.
Please submit a CARE Referral Form for yourself to connect to the CARE team.
