Copy an Assignment Using “Copy to Other Courses” from the Context Menu
You can quickly copy individual assignments from one course to another directly using the “Copy to Other Courses” option in the Assignments tool. Follow these steps.
After selecting Assignments from the navbar’s Course Menu, find the Assignment you want to copy, click on the downward-facing caret to the right of its name, and do the following:
- Select “Copy to Other Courses” from the context menu.
- Search for the destination course (or courses) from the Choose Destinations box.
- Choose the destination course from the list of those available. Check the box next to the course where you want to copy the Assignment. (And to refine your search by semester, select Search by Semester in the right-hand corner.) Review your selection to ensure accuracy.
- Click Next.
- On the next screen, verify the correct destinations, click Copy Assignment, and Done after you see “Copy Complete.” (If applicable, you can copy associated Rubrics and Grade Items from this screen, too.)
- Verify the Assignment in the Target Course. Navigate to the course shell (or shells) where you copied the Assignment. Go to the “Assignments” tool to confirm the Assignment has been successfully copied and edit the Assignment in the new course if necessary (e.g., update start and end dates, links, and points associated with Assignment’s Grade Item).
