Course Description
Evidence-based course offers neurobio-psycho-social education and mindfulness practices. Apply mindfulness skills to support clients and practitioners in living a balanced lifestyle that integrates self-empathy and stress management skills.
Intended Outcomes for the course
1) Understand and convey key aspects of mindfulness as it relates to stress reduction, coping with pain and illness and enhancing well-being.
2) Understand the attitudinal foundations of mindfulness practice.
3) Can convey the difference between relaxation and other distraction methods and the practice of mindfulness and meditation in dealing with life challenges.
4) Understand the basic neuroscience of the brain as it relates to the biochemistry of stress reactivity versus stress response and apply to the cultivation mindfulness practice.
