Course Description

Covers training in commercial flight activities. Includes complex flight operations, multi-engine operations, advanced systems, and performance maneuvers. Covers preparation for taking the commercial pilot multi-engine land stage 2 check. Flight training fees apply and cover a specific amount of training.

Addendum to Course Description

This course covers  the flight instruction in stages 2 and 3 of the Hillsboro Aero Academy FAA 141-approved Commercial Pilot ASEL Training Course – Reduced Minimums Rev 1 – 07/20/2022 (TCO)  in preparation for the Stage 2 exam. A specific number of hours of training are required to meet the outcomes for this course, and will be provided by PCC's contracted flight training provider under PCC supervision.  Outcomes will be assessed by written, oral and practical (flight) tests.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

  1. Qualify to take the Stage 2 Check for a commercial airplane multi-engine land rating.

  2. Demonstrate good judgment and make safe decisions as a commercial pilot in both Visual Flight Rules and Instrument Flight Rule operations, drawing on a broad range of experience gained in the training scenarios.

  3. Perform pre-flight and inflight duties as pilot-in-command for commercial operations.

Outcome Assessment Strategies

Evaluation methods will include written, oral, and practical testing. Evaluation levels will meet or exceed those defined by FAA Commercial Pilot Airplane Practical Test Standards, and required under 14 CFR 141,  FAA Approved Training Course. Completion standards for individual lessons will lead to meeting the desired course outcomes.
